(Q) What is a visa and why do I need one?
(A) A visa is a stamp affixed to a blank visa page in your passport. Visas are required by many countries before you may enter their territory.
(Q) Do I need to send you my passport to obtain a Ghana Visa?
(A) Yes, you must submit your passport with the required paperwork and photos to get a visa for traveling to Ghana.
(Q) What immunizations or pills are required or suggested when traveling to Ghana?
(A) Ask your doctor for recommendations. By international sanitary regulations, all persons entering Ghana are requested to have a valid certificate of immunization against yellow fever. This is available at medical travel clinics only. Do not submit your certificate together with your visa application form; instead, keep it and present it at your Port of Entry in Ghana.
(Q) Where can I find the expiration date of my visa or passport?
(A) On your visa look above and to the right of the signature, and you’ll see the date of issue. A single visa is suitable for one use only, so it expires when you leave Ghana. A multiple entry visa expires either 36 or 60 months after the date of issue. The date of passport expiry is at the top of the visa and on the picture page of the passport.
(Q) What’s the difference between a rush and regular visa?
(A) A proper visa, issued in Washington, D.C., should take 4-6 weeks to get back to you. In Houston, the rush visa will be sent back on the day received if the application and additional required documents are received on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
(Q) How long is my visa valid?
(A) A single entry tourist visa is good for one visit and expires once you leave. A multiple entry visa is suitable for either 36 or 60 months. Business travelers must check with the Ministry of Immigration within 90 days. All visas must be used the first time within 90 days to validate the single or multiple entry visa. All visas become invalid when the passport expires.
